Laptops, from HUGE machines to SMALL devices

Laptops have been something almost everyone has been in contact with, whether it's indirect or direct contact. Before the laptop, was the regular desktop PC. These GIANT machines were very bulk, sometimes taking up about a quarter of a small bedroom. But now since our lifestyles call for more convinence than the actual capabilities, they decided to make a PC that could be transported anywhere, and whenever. Thus was the idea of a laptop. A laptop, by defintion, is a personal computer (PC) that is designed for mobile use and has the ability to be seated in one's lap. What an OLD laptop contained was a very small screen, a large keyboard, an outlet for charging, and of course, the "small" design. Ironic, no? Well now, we have much larger screens, a better keyboard, a mouse pad (Built in) and many other features. Now what these machines do in the classroom is that they revolutionized the way we learn. Instead of having to carry, if it's even possible, the large desktops to every class, now students can carry a very thin, ultra light, laptop wherever one wants to go.

LCD Projectors...the NEW televsions of this age
The science behind this fascinating technology is that it sends light from a metal halide lamp through a prism that separates light to three poly silicone panels, one each for the red, green, and blue components of the video signal. A metal halide lamp is better yet more easlity identified as the lights you see in a football stadium when it starts to get dark. As for the 3 "primary" colors, these colors are the basic colors that make up the other "secondary" colors in the color spectrum.
Now, their usefulness can come in handy in different situations. One such situation is at a school. A teacher may have a lot of information for his/her students to write down. Since the class is very large, it would take FOREVER for every student to copy down their share of the notes. This is where the LCD comes in. The LCD can project the information to the whole class at once. This really save time and also is interactive. Another situation can be for entertainment. You can use the LCD projector in order to showcase a movie or such to a large group. This also save money because you won't need to buy a new large television, instead you can have an LCD projector for about half the price and extra change to spare for any extras.

Solar Panels
Solar panels are devices that collect the sun's energy, light and thermal, convert it, and store it until it is needed. These type of devices are the most cleaner methods of consuming energy without any reprecussions. There are two types of solar panels, a photovoltaic module and a solar thermal collector.
A photovoltaic module is a device that consist of an assembly of connected solar cells that collect the sun's rays and convert it into clean, consumable energy. The actual material that the solar cells consist of are waffer-based monocrystaline silicon. The way it works is that the energy that is collected is stored into a battery for later use, dispelling the stereotype of "lights out" when it comes to night time.
A solar thermal collector is somewhat similar to a photovoltaic module, except the cells in consist of sole purpose is to collect the sun's light in order to produce heat to heat water and create energy. The way this device work is that the sun's light is collected and becomes heat, therefore heating water to steam for a turbine connected to a electric generator.
The only disadvantages to this device is that the cells require precise angles and posisition for it to collect the most amount of sunlight. Also, during slightly cloudy days, the amount of energy that is created drastically falls as opposed to when the sun is clearly visible. Besides these reasons showing small flaws, solar panels are one of the "greener" methods to produce energy and protect the Earth.

Renewable Energy
Biofuel can be defined as a solid, liquid or gaseous substance that can act as a fuel derived from a recently dead biological material. Fossil fuels are derived from long dead biological material, thus making them very different.
One type of biofuel is a solid biofuel. It has been long used to heat a home, and also in cooking, but recently discovered to have a reduction effect in CO2 emissions as oposed to a boiler. Such examples of solid biofuels are woodchips, straw, and wood pellets, being that they have been chopped from a recently living biological material, a tree.
Biowaste is the waste of biological items. Such biowaste can be found in landfills and also in your own home. Cooking oil, such as USED peanut oil and vegetable oil, can be filtered and later used as an alternative fuel for specially made cars. By doing this, people can reduce the toxic emissions that regular gas powered cars make.
Biogases are gaseous substances that can are produced as a byproduct of anaerobic digestion, which is the process of which an organism decomposes a material. You can find a less cleaner version in landfills because all the items are rotting and being decomposed.
These types of fuels serve for the better of the world, especially since we are going through a big climate change.
